About Afton, WY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Afton, WY is a small town in Lincoln County. Its biggest claim to fame is that it is home to the world’s largest arch made completely of elk antlers. The arch consists of over 3,000 antlers, spans 75 feet and weighs 15 tons. The arch is a pretty big attraction in the area and many tourists stop by for a photo-op. This small, relatively quiet town, however, is not just known for its arch. With typical mountain weather (varying widely from season to season and times of day), it is a great place to live for outdoorsy types who would rather not be in the center of the hustle and bustle of nearby Jackson Hole.
Jackson Hole is a well-known resort town with a plethora of things to do, places to eat and events that keep tourists coming back each year. Summer activities include the fair, drive in movie theatre, hiking, horseback riding and fishing. Winter activities tend to revolve around the snow and include snowshoeing, skiing, tubing, snowboarding, horse-drawn sleigh rides and more.
If you enjoy the outdoors then, whether you choose to visit in the warmth of the summer or the cold of the winter, you will have a wonderful time. There is always plenty to do, see and investigate in this beautiful, mountainous region. Nearby national parks include the world famous Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. You can also visit the elk refuge, check out the distinctive, eclectic shopping and eat delicious authentic “cowboy food.”
